The price of dental implants can be confusing. Some are so expensive while others are much cheaper (but still a lot of money!).
Open any free newspaper in London or go online and you’ll quickly find deals both in the UK and abroad. Ask friends and somebody you know will likely have gone abroad for treatment or paid less than the prices you are considering.
When you get your first quote for treatment, it is completely natural to ask, is this right? Am I overpaying?
You start looking around and, like most of us, you probably start with Dr Google. After a few clicks and maybe the odd phone call (all you want is the price, no you don’t want to book a free consultation, you just need to know a rough price!) what may strike you is the difference in cost for what appears to be the same thing. You’re missing a tooth, surely everyone does the same thing when they replace it, right?
At this point, you have decisions to make.
Do you approach buying dental implants in the same way as buying a new car? Just figure out the cheapest place and go there?
Do you think of them the same as booking a holiday? Find the right deal at the right time and everyone else on the plane is paying more than you for exactly the same thing?
Is buying dental implants like going shopping, where you have to choose between Lidl or Waitrose? Do you pay more for the fancy packaging, polite staff and background music?
The reality is that when buying dental implants, you’re purchasing a new body part. As your body is unique, your body part needs to be bespoke too. Think of it like you would buying a bespoke suit or dress for a wedding.
As part of the process, you need to determine what look you are after. Or, find the right dressmaker/tailor to work with and pick the right material and cut for you. The dressmaker/tailor then creates a one-off, bespoke dress/suit. Just for you. It is made to fit your body, to look good, feel comfortable and give you confidence when you need it.
In this scenario, would you choose the cheapest or the one that represents the best value?
